We use several different shipping carriers (USPS, UPS and FedEx) but primarily use Priority Mail and FedEx Home Delivery (which provides Saturday delivery at no extra cost). The cost of shipping is automatically calculated at checkout based on the total weight of the shipment. Occasionally the true cost of shipping cannot be accurately estimated by our shopping cart software. In cases where postage cost is over-estimated we will manually reduce the final charge made to your credit card.
We ship worldwide. UPS and FedEx Ground shipments are available to the 48 continental states. Alaska, Hawaii require either USPS Priority Mail or UPS/FedEx expedited shipping services. International orders may be sent via US Mail airmail/surface parcel post or Global Express Mail at our discretion. We will provide shipping quotes prior to shipment.
At times, we (or our drop-ship manufacturers) may ship a different way. If this occurs, you will be notified of the change and provided with the necessary information to track your package(s).
Additional Shipping Charges: Some larger items include an additional shipping charge because they are over-sized or weigh more than a typical package. If this is the case, you will see the charge on the product page and in your shopping cart before you checkout.
The actual delivery time varies depending on the time of day your order is placed, the type of product you order, your location and the shipping method you choose. We will give you an estimate of delivery times, but please track your package with the carrier for more accurate estimates.
Unexpected Delays: We cannot be held accountable for any shipper-related shipping problem, manufacturer shipping related problem, or incorrect information provided during checkout that leads to delayed delivery. As always, if we become aware of delays we will relay this information to you in a timely manner.
Shipping to APO/FPO Addresses
We ship to both APO and FPO addresses via the US Mail. This shipment may take up to 17 days, and we cannot always provide a tracking number for the order, but we will inform you via email when we ship the order.
To ship to an APO or FPO, please include the grade, full name with middle name or initial, and the PSC number, unit number, or ship name for the recipient. In the "City" field, please put either APO or FPO, in the "State" field, please put AA (Armed Forces of America), AE (Armed Forces Europe) or AP (Armed Forces Pacific), and then use the appropriate ZIP code for the location
Shipping to PO Boxes
We do ship to PO Boxes, but only through US Mail. If possible, please provide an alternate street address or business location for delivery.
Items designated as drop-shipped are shipped directly from the toy's manufacturer. For drop-ship items, please allow 3-7 business days for items to ship.
Drop- ship items are shipped UPS, FedEx, USPS, or DSL depending on the manufacturer. When your item(s) is shipped, we will notify you of the shipping method and provide you with the tracking number in a shipment email, so you can track the order just like any other order from Red Hen Books & Toys.
In addition, since direct ship items are not shipped from our warehouse, we are unable to gift wrap or provide gift enclosures with these items.
After placing an order at Red Hen Books & Toys, you can check the shipping status of your order through your account. We will email you when an order is placed, as well as when the order is shipped. The shipment email will provide the tracking information for your order. You can use the shipping method and tracking number provided in the shipment email and in your account to track your package at the following:
