Achi™ is one of many traditional three-in-a-row games. Placement games like Achi are found around the globe. This version originated in Ghana, where it's often played by children using pebbles as game pieces. In India the game is called “Yih” and in the Phillipines it’s called “Tapatan.” Three-Men’s Morris can also be played on this board. Remnants of a similar game were found near Hadrian's Wall in northern England dating back to the 3rd or 4th century. Traditional Tic-Tac-Toe (noughts and crosses) can be played on the Achi board as well. Forming a row of three is the simple objective, but it’s a little more challenging because, after the pieces are in place, they can be moved.
Includes a 4-inch square wood game board, two sets of pegs, and complete instructions. For two players, ages 6+. Made in USA.
