The BoxOff solo game experience is based on the recognition of rectangles with two opposing corners defined by two same-colored gems. Once such a rectangle is identified, and if there are no other gems within the rectangle or on its edges, these two gems can be removed. Sounds easy? Think again. Contains 64 gems (16 each of 4 bright colors), rules and printed rubber-backed board. Choose between shiny, translucent gems and frosted, matte gems. Also available in a cribbage peg version for mobile play. Made in the USA for one player age 8+.
Since the invention of BoxOff in 2013, the game has been featured in Games Magazine, Games World of Puzzles, Abstract Games Magazine, and presented in a paper at an artificial intelligence conference. Reviewers have called it “more of a game than a puzzle” and “destined to be a classic.”
