Kōnane is an ancient two-player strategy board game from Hawaii. Before contact with Europeans, the game was played using small pieces of white coral and black lava on a large carved rock which doubled as both board and table. Konane is sometimes called “Hawaiian Checkers,” but aside from jumping captures, there is almost no resemblance. Konane does have some similarities to the games of Leap Frog and Main Chuki (or Tjuki).
This deluxe version is nearly twice the size of the Peg Pastimes™ 4x4-inch travel version of Konane, with full-color artwork. The 5.5-inch square larger board provides room for a larger game. The 80 peg holes bring the game up to the standard size more often used for Konane.
The more you play the more you'll see the deeper strategies. Made in USA for 2 players ages 6+.
