Queah is a game native to Liberia. There is very little information about the age or origin of this game in particular, but it is a jump-and-capture game of the kind that have been found in every culture as far back as history has been recorded. The game is identified with the Queah tribe, and has no other name than that. The first European record of the game was by the German author Johann Büttikofer in his ‘Einiges über die Eingeborenen von Liberia’ (1882). It also appeared in A History of Board-games other than Chess by H.J.R. Murray, (1952).
